A spectacular wedding

Congratulations to Rae and Geir who were married at the Mansion on May 26!

Erica Powell of Ambiance Luxe Weddings created this beautiful wedding.  The details were amazing.  The flowers and the tablescapes were breathtaking.  Whoever coined the phrase, "The devil is in the details", never saw a wedding like this.  At the Mansion we say, "The beauty is in the details!"  Rae and Geir's guests were treated to a memorable evening and it began with planning and creativity.

This is one of the centerpieces on the head table.  It is full of roses and peonies!  All the more reason to get married in May and June.

The place cards

The table numbers

A place setting.  Notice the gold rims on the charger and dinner plate.

The table is set with a water glass, wine glass, and champagne flute.
They are tall and add dimension to the table.

Floating candles and votives create soft light at the table.

This is the head table.  There are peonies, gardenias, roses, and stock in the centerpieces.

This enticing display is for the  wedding cake and sweets.
Notice the rosette tablecloth and garland.
There is no shortage of pink candy here.
Is this too pretty to eat?

Now that we are ready...

Rae and her father arrived by horse drawn carriage driven by Allegra Farms.
The ceremony was supposed to be outside on the lawn, but a sudden thunderstorm changed everyone's plans.

After hoping that the rain would subside, and mother nature not cooperating, Rae and Geir surrounded by 200 guests exchanged their vows in the Gallery.

Just after the ceremony, the rains ceased and Rae and Geir were able to head outside for pictures.  A mist hung from the trees and lifted off the payment.  Dreamier pictures you will not find anywhere.

After pictures the bridal party and the bride and groom were introduced under the tented patio.

They danced their first dance,

and were toasted by their family and friends.

After dinner Rae changed into a sari.

for more champagne and toasts,

and the cake cutting,

and the boquet toss,

and more dancing

 and more merriment,

and even more merriment,

until they rode off into the moonlight.

                                                                                                 and lived happily ever after.

It is all about color!

Angie and Greg's Wedding June 30, 2012

When I met Angie, I should have known that she would plan a wedding that would be vibrant, because she was always so animated when we talked.  What you see below is a palate of bright colors perfect for a summer evening wedding.

The flowers were done by Green Dahlia of Middletown. The centerpieces were a mixture of roses, orchids, ranunculus, stock, and irish bells.

Instead of using table numbers, Angie and Greg named their tables after special places, memorable to their lives.

After arriving from the church ceremony at St Mary's church in Newington, Greg and Angie and their photographer, Michelle Carpenter, headed out to the vista for pictures.   It was a beautiful June evening perfect for taking pictures on the grounds.

The caterer, Aqua Turf, created a Sangria Bar for the guests at the couple's request.

All their family and friends gathered on the patio for their first dance.

The color of the flowers, ribbons, and embellishments on the cake continue the color theme.

After dinner when the sun had set, the building and patio were light in vibrant hues of purple and amber to create a magical atmosphere for dancing.

And dance they did!
